It is the matter of great pleasure to me to write this message for fifth edition of e-newsletter of Committee for Cooperatives & NPO Sectors.
Not for profit sectors and cooperative sectors have been growing in our country at a rapid pace in past few decades. Particularly post independence the importance of cooperative societies has been increased manifolds. Government’s policies were emphasized on how the cooperative societies and NGOs can be prospered and boosted in the country. Leniency has been kept by the law makers in legal provisions regarding formation, operations, compliances and disclosures of cooperative societies and NPOs with the purpose to prosper these sectors. We, Chartered Accountants, also have not explored these areas completely and thus there lies huge opportunities for us in these sectors. Government as well as other stakeholder has huge expectations from Chartered Accountants for ensuring the good governance, compliance with the laws and disclosures by these sectors.
To serve better, thorough knowledge is of prime importance.
Regular updation of latest developments happening around these sectors is inevitable to render quality services. Members may take help of the publications brought by the committee on issues pertaining to these sectors and also may visit its dedicated website to increase their awareness about developments happening around these sectors. I believe the members shall find the fifth edition equally informative and useful to them. I wish all the very best to the readers.
